Faith Formation at St. Mary of the Assumption is coordinated by Lisa Marcelletti, but forming and equipping the parish to serve God’s people is the work of every one of us. Church teaching is that baptism, eucharist and confirmation are the sacraments of initiation – the triple-graced first step in belonging to the Body of Christ. Once we have received confirmation, we have only begun the journey of discipleship – the rest of our lives, we have promised to be Christ to the world until he comes again. How can any of us do that without fortifying ourselves, developing a deepening, ever stronger, enriched awareness of God’s presence and companionship and love for us? We are never finished being formed, nor are we ever finished echoing to help form others.
